Dancing On Ice’s Vanessa Bauer apologises for complaining she had ‘no covid symptoms’ after backlash

After getting backlash from fans for complaining about not having any Covid-19 symptoms despite testing positive, Vanessa Bauer has now apologised for her comments.

The Dancing On Ice star, who previously sparked romance rumours with Jordan Hames, took to her Instagram stories to say sorry for being insensitive with her remarks.

The 24 year old began: “I just wanted to jump on here and apologise for my latest post, I’m sorry when I said that it’s frustrating to have COVID without any symptoms.

“I’ve realised it’s a bad thing for me to say because I know I’m so lucky to have COVID without any symptoms, and I know that a lot of families and people are suffering so much because of bad COVID symptoms and I’m fully aware that it probably wasn’t the smartest thing to say so I do apologise for it.

“It’s really hard to come to terms with it, that you’ve got this virus and yet you can’t even feel it, when it’s pulling you out of everything in your life that’s bringing you joy in a way, so that’s what I mean.”

The professional skater put her earlier comments down to her frustration about having to exit Dancing On Ice after she and her celebrity partner Joe-Warren Plant tested positive for the virus.

She continued: “It’s very frustrating knowing that you can’t be doing what you’re supposed to be doing, but I do feel very, very lucky to not have symptoms, to be completely fine, and I’m very grateful for that and I really feel with everyone who’s suffering physically but also mentally a lot.

“We’re getting through this together guys. I’ve had the toughest, the worst few days. I’ve cracked so much guys, but I’m trying to see the positives.”

The official Dancing On Ice Instagram account announced the sad news of Joe-Warren and Vanessa’s exit from the competition.

The post read: “We can confirm that following positive Covid tests, @joewarren_plant and @vanessabauer_skates have had to withdraw from this year’s competition.

“They’ve been wonderful on the show and we thank them for all their dedication and beautiful performances.”

The pair, who shut down romance rumours, aren’t the only stars to leave the competition without being voted off.

Denise Van Outen and Billie Faiers withdrew because of injuries, and Rufus Hound left the show because he also tested positive for coronavirus.
