If you plan a trip with Deutsche Bahn early on, the (super) saver price is the best way to save a lot of money. Because the tickets are extremely cheap compared to regular tickets. From October 1, 2023, however, something will change in the availability of the popular snapper.

On X (formerly Twitter), the user Michael posted the display of a travel center. This states that the SuperSparpreis promotion, SuperSparpreis (seniors) and Sparpreis must be issued as an online or mobile phone ticket in the future. From October onwards, an email address or mobile phone number will be required to book. A transfer is not possible due to personalization.

In the tweet, the railway confirmed the accuracy of this statement. From October 1, 2023, sales will no longer be possible at travel centers and other agencies, but only online. It is still possible to purchase (super) saver fare tickets at DB machines until the end of the year. It seems that the sale of cheap tickets will shift completely online from 2024.

Seniors are therefore likely to be most affected by the change. But with regard to data protection, there is already a loud discussion on social media. When asked why this decision was made, the railway replied to X:
