Deutsche Bahn sells one million extra tickets at a price of 17.90 euros each

10 days of cheap prices: Promotion started on Saturday: Bahn sells one million tickets for 17.90 euros each

Deutsche Bahn has announced a special offer: from Saturday (June 5) there will be one million additional tickets – at a price of 17.90 euros each. The occasion is the 30th birthday of the ICE. But the story has a little catch.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the ICE, Deutsche Bahn is putting one million additional tickets for sale at a price of 17.90 euros. These tickets are then valid for travel in the next six months, as railway boss Richard Lutz told the newspapers of the “Funke Mediengruppe”. The entire campaign started on Saturday and runs for ten days.

Deutsche Bahn: Tickets are not limited to a certain length of the route

In addition, the tickets are not limited to a certain route length, explained Lutz. The tickets are available online, at the machine and at the train station counter. With offers like this one, Deutsche Bahn wants to stand up to air traffic and cars after the collapse in demand in the corona pandemic. “We don’t have to hide there,” said the CEO.

The railway is currently celebrating the 30th anniversary of the ICE. According to Bahn, the era of the express train began at the end of May 1991 with a rally of six trains.
