Deutschlandsberg – farm building burned ablaze

Fire brigade operation on Tuesday morning in Styria: A farm building in Deutschlandsberg was ablaze. Several vehicles were destroyed by flames. The damage is extensive, fortunately no one was injured.

When the fire brigade arrived at the scene of the fire in the Burgegg district shortly after 2 a.m., the open farm building, which was used as a carport and storage room, was already fully ablaze. The emergency services immediately carried out an extinguishing attack using a total of 7 C-pipes on the east and west sides of the property. “It had an impact after just a short time. The fire was able to prevent the fire from spreading,” said the fire department. Burning cars covered with extinguishing foam. After the first extinguishing successes, parts of the building had to be evacuated using heavy breathing apparatus. The property, particularly the vehicles parked there, was then covered with fire-fighting foam. “In this way, further flare-ups could be prevented as best as possible.” The operation ended around 6 a.m. The FF Deutschlandsberg and the FF Hollenegg were deployed with 31 forces. The cause of the fire is still the subject of police investigations.
