If there’s one publisher who doesn’t really do things like everyone else, it’s clearly Devolver Digital. Every year during the summer period, previously dominated byE3 before his death and with the Summer Game Fest now, a pre-recorded presentation in the style of a wacky short film is broadcast. Last summer, we even had a Devolver Delayed Showcase aping the format of Nintendo to announce postponements. If you liked the Devolver Direct: The Return of Volvy from June 2023, with a purely fictional mascot giving rise to great nonsense, you should be delighted to see it return to celebrate its 15th anniversary!
THE Devolver Direct 2024 was therefore dated until June 7 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, i.e. at 2:00 a.m. in the middle of the night on June 8 for us in France. The schedule is clearly not ideal despite it being a weekend, taking over from Summer Game Fest Live which will be broadcast shortly before. Obviously, we will offer you a summary of the announcements on the site so that you don’t miss anything. The press release received specifies that the duration will be 20 minutes and that there will be “no weird stuff this year”. On this last point, we have doubts.
