Canadian actor Devon Sawa, once known for “Final Destination” or having played the human version of the little ghost Casper disappeared from the screens in the early 2000s. But what has become of him since?
Devon Sawa begins by playing in amateur theater troupes before settling in Hollywood. He made his first appearances on television in the series The Fantastic Odyssey (1992) and in the cinema in Little Giants (1994), a family comedy by Duwayne Dunham. In 1995, he is the human incarnation of Casper in the film produced by Steven Spielberg.
After Casper, the real horror
Devon Sawa plays small roles as a teenager in Memories of a Summer (1995) by Lesli Linka Glatter and Wild America (1997) by William Dear, before finding himself at the top of the bill in two horror films: The Hand that Kills (1999), in which he plays a high school student whose hand, possessed by an evil force, lives its own life, and Final Destination (2000) where he has death as his adversary. He then gives the reply to Bill Pullman in the thriller The Guilty (id.). The same year, he played Stan in Eminem’s eponymous clip.

Touching on all genres, Deavon Sawa distinguished himself in the comedy for teenagers with Slackers (2002), where he excelled in the art of cheating in exams, and in the action film with The Extremists (id.), where he tries extreme sports.
Addiction and Nikita
Addiction problems followed which kept him away from the sets for several years and saw him shoot in direct-to-video low-end and is thinking of converting into real estate. He returned from 2009 with the first role of Creature of Darkness, then he was chosen for a recurring role in the Nikita series, inspired by Luc Besson’s film released in 1990.

Sawa then chained the roles in minor productions until gradually reappearing in series B films which made more talk about them like Life on the Line with John Travolta – whom he finds 4 years later for The Fanatic – or Evasion 3, with Sylvester Stallone, Dave Bautista and 50 Cent.
Despite the failure of the fantasy series Somewhere Between (canceled by ABC after 10 episodes), Devon Sawa remains on television with guest appearances in Hawaii 5-0, MacGyver and Magnum PI, then Chucky, before playing a seducer in comedy Hacks.

He then shot several upcoming feature films, including Civil by Mackenzie Donaldson, which will put him back in the lead for a story set in the near future in which the civil war is raging because of climate measures imposed by the government. His career seems to be off to a good start!
