Diablo 4 sets a new record and rakes in $666 million

Activision-Blizzard is proud to give an update on its latest release a few days after launch. In just 5 days, Diablo 4 broke a record by becoming the fastest-selling Blizzard game, and generated no less than $666 million. Finally, 5 days since the official release of the title on June 6. Between congratulations and statistics, it cannot be denied that Diablo 4 conquered the players.

No precise figures concerning the number of copies sold, but we are far from the 3.5 million reached by Diablo III within 24 hours of its release in 2012. The infernal saga is therefore doing very well, and offers Blizzard the opportunity to thank the fans for that.

“On behalf of Blizzard, we want to thank the millions of players around the world who immerse themselves in Diablo IV. [Il] is the result of our amazing teams working together to create and support genre-defining games, build legendary worlds, and inspire memories that will last a lifetime. We are humbled by the response, proud of the team, and remain committed to listening to our players and ensuring Diablo continues to exceed expectations for years to come. »

A record for Diablo, but not only

The announcement of this record, in addition to playing with the number of the Beast, is an opportunity to come back to some figures that have shaped Diablo 4 since its release. Cumulative playing time, demons slain or number of deaths, everything is impressive. The game even managed to place itself at the top of the most watched games on Twitch during its Early Access, the 1er June. Since that date, 276 billion demons have been slain. Players have died over 316 million times, and over 5 million of those are due to The Butcher. Finally, there are 163 players at the maximum level in Hardcore, where death is final.
