The deputy France Insoumise Alexis Corbière, who sits on the Defense Committee, indulged in a few confidences on France Info on Wednesday March 9. According to him, France would have delivered bullet-proof vests and anti-tank missiles to Ukraine.
While the government and the Ministry of the Armed Forces decided not to reveal the content of the arms deliveries for strategic questions, Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s spokesman Alexis Corbière decided otherwise. Asked about the Ukrainian conflict and more particularly about the delivery of arms, he explained calmly that France had only sent “bullet-proof vests and a few anti-tank missiles”. Faced with the amazement of the journalists on the set, Alexis Corbière – understanding his mistake – tried to backpedal by saying that he could not say more, but that “it could look like that”.
