If the default display of subtitles on Netflix does not suit you, you can change them.
For those who swear by the original version, subtitles play a key role in access to works. Perhaps not for English-speaking productions, if you have a decent background in English, but for those coming from countries whose language you do not master or in the event that you have lost everything from your high school years — those who have German, Spanish or Italian facts can attest to this.
The good news is that Netflix offers subtitles for its subscription video on demand (SVOD) catalog. That’s not all: it also offers the possibility of personalizing them (like Disney+ for that matter). Useful if you find that the font, color or size is not suitable for the screen and if you have difficulty reading the subtitles.
How to Change Subtitles on Netflix?
If you want to make changes to the display of subtitles, the procedure is as follows:
- Launch Netflix in your web browser;
- Go to your profile at the top right of the screen;
- In the drop-down menu, click on “Account”;
- Find your profile in the new page and click on it;
- A line “Display of subtitles” appears. Click on it;
You will then find yourself on another page offering you several settings: the size of the characters, the font, the color of the text, the type of shadow, the color of the text background and the color of the window in which s insert the subtitles. Once you are satisfied with the result, all you have to do is click on “Save”.
Or “Reset”, if that’s an eyesore.
