The left parliamentary group leader Dietmar Bartsch is in the hospital after a bicycle accident. The politician broke a total of six ribs.
The left-wing politician Dietmar Bartsch (64) is in a hospital in Stralsund after a bicycle accident. First media reports the parliamentary group leader in the Bundestag then confirmed himself via Twitter. “Six broken ribs are painful,” writes Bartsch in his post. He thanked the doctors, the nurses and the entire staff of the hospital. The care is excellent and is helping him to recover.
The accident happened during his vacation on the Baltic Sea last week. Bartsch continues to work from the hospital bed and hopes to be able to leave the clinic soon. It was only announced on Friday that CDU leader Friedrich Merz (66) had seriously injured himself on vacation. In a sports accident he broke his collarbone and had to have an operation, his spokesman also announced via Twitter.
