Digital advisors settle in the landscape

During the health crisis, 4,000 digital advisors were recruited as part of the fight against the digital divide.

Two years later, these jobs are permanent. At the end of July, the government announced an envelope of 44 million euros dedicated to this system within the Ministry of Transformation and the Public Service, from 2023.

“We are in the process of inventing a new public service to reach out to our fellow citizens, to train them in digital technology (…)”, declared Stanislas Guerini, Minister of Transformation and the Public Service, at the microphone of Europe 1. “We want to make it a priority,” he insisted.

“Securing workstations to go further”

The secure budget envelope will make it possible to “secure these 4,000 positions to consider going further,” said Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister Delegate in charge of the Digital Transition and Telecommunications, questioned on this subject by Franceinfo.

Digital advisers intervene in particular with the general public and VSEs-SMEs to explain to them how to carry out administrative procedures online.

The site dedicated to France services digital advisers indicates that nearly 645,000 support sessions have been carried out to date under this system. However, there are 13 million people in France without any digital skills – or very few.
