Disappearance of Delphine Jubillar: “It will probably not be long”, this heavy deadline expected in the case

The end of the case of the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar which dates from December 2020 could be approaching…

More than three years after the opening of the file, progress in the investigation remains meager. It must be said that the file on the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar, a 33-year-old mother and nurse, is full of complexities and questions that still await answers. In fact, her husband Cédric Jubillar remains the main suspect and has been in detention since June 2021. Our colleagues from Ouest France have also announced that Cédric Jubillar’s lawyers are preparing to do a new application for release, the seventh since his detention. Despite the series of refusals, they hope this time that one element in particular will work in favor of their client: the future closure of the investigation.

Indeed, as pointed out by Me Jean-Baptiste Alary, lawyer for Cédric Jubillar, “it will probably not be long”, which could shake things up. It may however be that the end of the case complicates, on the contrary, the request made by the lawyers of the husband of the disappeared. Another request was also made to the investigating judges, namely further investigations which would aim to exonerate Cédric Jubillar. Like the requests for release, these were however refused underlines West France. An appeal was made following this decision, and it will therefore then be up to the investigating judges, in the event of a new refusal, to signal the end of the investigation to the parties concerned.

A trial in 2024 for Cédric Jubillar?

Then comes another decision, that of refer, or not, Cédric Jubillar before the Assize Court to start his trial. West France specifies that depending on the availability of available slots, the trial should not take place before the beginning of 2024. It could be that by then, Cédric Jubillar will finally obtain a release since, as already pointed out his lawyers, he already has accommodation in case he leaves detention. This accommodation is also in Ariège and has already been visited by the prison services.
