discomfort in On est en direct

fun, news, tips … what else?

Laurent Ruquier and Jean Castex aroused unease on Saturday evening in We are live on France 2, both attacking – in the tone of humor of course – Léa Salamé.

Léa Salamé was on Saturday September 4 on the talkshow set We are live on France 2. It was the first show of the season, and it also marked a return of his collaboration with Laurent Ruquier, five years after leaving We are not in bed. For this media return, the two friends received a distinguished guest: Prime Minister Jean Castex. And the least we can say is that the two men did not facilitate the task of Léa Salamé, described as “intern” and even “barker” entry by Laurent Ruquier. The host also often cut him off on several occasions, not hesitating to put his hand on his arm to interrupt. Happy, or too happy, to find his partner ofWe are not in bed, Laurent Ruquier also used the terms of “wedding”, “remarriage” and “union”. “Thank you for blessing our union”, even told the TV host to Jean Castex. And the latter to answer him: “She will be happy.” “We do not know”, commented the main concerned.

Jean Castex adds another layer to the discomfort

LATEST NEWS

For his part, the Prime Minister seemed very comfortable throughout the show. So much so that he even called Laurent Ruquier and Léa Salamé by their first names on several occasions. He even showed himself to be an accomplice with the TV host, making no difference to the unease around Léa Salamé. While Laurent Ruquier had just asked if we could soon remove the mask, the journalist stressed that “the question (was) very important”. The host thanked her with a big smile and the PM said: “She’s a good intern! You’ll lend her to me as an intern later.” Ouch… Léa Salamé, a great feminist activist, twitched on the reflection, to which she had already pouted at the start of the program, but she resumed the thread of her interview. On Twitter, Internet users did not fail to react.

Laurent Ruquier’s remark, to which Jean Castex became an accomplice, was judged “sexist” on social networks, and Internet users were surprised that Léa Salamé did not react.

Léa Salamé, a feminist at heart

Léa Salamé is a feminist. She fights so that women are more represented in the media, in politics, but also so that more is cited in the historical references. In September 2020, she had also explained in Day-to-day on TMC we had “need for strong figures, female models”. This is what she wrote for Powerful women, to highlight strong women and destinies, who have as much their place in history as men.
