Unveiled a few weeks ago at Krosmonote 2022, the Legacy of the Forgelance is the game’s new content, highlighting the long-awaited new class in DOFUS: the Forgelance. This new class has its origins in the world of Lance-Dur, the new animated series from Ankama. This universe will be really in the spotlight at the end of the year since the region presented in Lance-Dur will also be at the heart of the new DLC, with a presence on the various media of the Krosmoz universe (DOFUS PC, WAKFU and DOFUS Touch). Thus, fans of the game will be able to choose between discovering this class in the game and then learning a little more through the series or, on the contrary, rediscovering DOFUS through the series.
Forgelance, the new DOFUS class
The new DOFUS update highlights an additional class that brings with it new game areas on the Valonia Archipelago. Thus, Ankama has pulled out all the stops with the addition of three new areas at level 50, 190 and 200, new quests and also four new dungeons. In addition, about thirty new objects are added as well as two new resources.
It is important to note that the new class marks a turning point in the Ankama universe since, for once, it is not based on a nation or an ethnic group. The Forgelance is therefore directly linked to the Order of Forgelances.
As for Forgelance, it is exclusive to the PC version of the MMO DOFUS. As mentioned previously, only elements from the Lance-Dur universe will be incorporated into WAKFU and DOFUS Touch. As for class roles, these are, unsurprisingly: Damage, Placement, and Protection.
In game, the Forgelance is a mobile spearman capable of covering large areas with its attacks. He is also able to summon an ethereal spear and control it remotely through a form of telekinesis. With this weapon, he will be able to inflict heavy damage and move or move his enemies, but also use protection spells. Thus, the Forgelance guides his team in actions, both offensively and defensively. Although its use is a kind of hybrid of what already exists on DOFUS, its animations are very new. This contrasts with the current content in the game and proves that Ankama has many cards in hand to constantly develop the content.

A direct link to the Lance-Dur series
For fans of the world of DOFUS, Ankama has therefore worked on a brand new series highlighting a totally original part of its universe. Indeed, Lance-Dur brings a completely different perspective to the World of Twelve with the Valonia Archipelago. It includes landscapes reminiscent of Scandinavia but also the heritage of Viking and Celt culture, with its snowy villages and mountains.
If you liked the series, you won’t just find the landscapes but also the main characters, since Ankama has prepared content around them in the new Forgelance Legacy DLC. The main city, Albuera, will also be present on DOFUS but also on the Touch and WAKFU versions.
A particularly successful transmedia work which therefore highlights the entire creative panel of the French studio, from video games to animated series.
