Discover our handling of the Tooo Cycling DVR80 dashcam in video

During a journey that took us from Apt (84) to Saint-Tropez (83) by electric bike, we took the Tooo Cycling DVR80 rear camera on the roads of southern France. The opportunity for us to put this small dashcam designed to protect cyclists in the event of an accident or collision with another road user to the test.

The DVR80 is capable of shooting in Full HD (1080p) at 60 frames per second. It saves images in a format identical to that of streaming videos, which saves every second until the device is destroyed – but not the microSD card which acts as a storage medium. This camera developed by Tooo Cycling is one of those things that you take with you without really wanting to need it. A form of video insurance that can be used to identify the possible culprit of a rear impact.

Convenient and simple to use

In practice, using this camera turned out to be simple and convenient. Its attachment allows it to attach to most of the uprights of a bicycle, even if you prefer to attach it to the seat tube to give it the best view of what is happening behind you. The camera turns on with a long press of the only button it has and recording begins immediately. No need to worry about the space left on the memory card: the new images automatically replace the oldest without the need to intervene.

Tooo Cycling’s DVR80 camera is paired with a rear red light. The latter can be adjusted to a fixed or flashing mode and improves the visibility of the bike. This light is more powerful than the majority of bicycle taillights that we usually come across. The autonomy of the device exceeds 7 hours, which makes it possible to cover a week of cycling without too many problems.
