Apple has just offered for download the first beta version of the next update of its mobile OS.

If Apple should present in less than two months iOS 16, on the occasion of its WWDC 2022 conference, iOS 15 continues its merry way with an update numbered 15.5 whose first beta has just been distributed to developers and users enrolled in the test program.

A new prepaid card and an Apple Music dedicated to classical music on the program for this update

The first new feature visible in this new version is the return of the iTunes Pass, renamed Apple Account here. As a reminder, iTunes Pass was a rechargeable virtual card registered in the Wallet application (now Cards), which allowed users to buy applications and, for American customers, to buy equipment or pay for their subscriptions. The iTunes Pass had to be recharged at the Apple Store, which was not the most practical. Apple Account should be easier to use since reloading would be done directly in the Cards application with the Apple Pay mobile payment solution.

References to Apple Classical were also discovered in this first beta. As a reminder, last August Apple bought the Primephonic streaming platform dedicated to the distribution of classical music. Apple had announced at the same time that Apple Music subscribers would have a new streaming application at their disposal to find their favorite composers and works, in an interface adapted to this musical genre. Apple Classical could be that solution and should be available in the coming weeks with the launch of iOS 15.5.
