Movies Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters met with great success in 2010 and 2013, but the fox had not followed up on the adaptations of Rick Riordan’s novels, which nevertheless had 5 main volumes (the Camp Half-Blood Saga account much more). Logan Lerman and his gang will probably never return to complete this film franchise, but disney decided to order a reboot serial live action for Disney+ in 2020.
His production progressed well and he was able to broadcast a very first teaser when D23 Expo this week-end. The project is currently called Percy Jackson and the Olympianstaking the name of the paper pentalogy, but its French title could be different. It will pick up the story of the Demi-God at the start, as he discovers that he is the illegitimate son of Poseidon and a human, and is sent to the Camp Half-Blood to master his powers. The plans are still few, but we can already see Walker Scobell in the skin of the hero.
No release date is yet mentioned, but the first episode could not be broadcast until early 2024, according to a recent statement by Rick Riordan. Until then, you can watch other programs on Disney+which invites us to enjoya first month of subscription at €1.99 until September 19.
