What films, series and originals does the new Disney Plus streaming service, which starts in Germany on March 24, offer its customers? Disney announced in a press release that "over 500 films, more than 350 series and 25 exclusive Disney Plus Originals" will be available at launch. In addition to animation classics, Marvel blockbusters and "Star Wars" titles, there are also more than 600 episodes of the cult animation series "The Simpsons" from seasons 1-30. The originals from Disney Plus

Especially the "Star Wars" spin-off "The Mandalorian" is eagerly awaited. But it's not the only Disney Plus original. The series "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series", "The World According to Jeff Goldblum", "Forky has a question" and "The Imagineering Story" as well as the films "Susi und Strolch", "Togo: Der Schlittenhund" and "Timmy Flop: Failure all along the line" are also among the 25 exclusive originals that are available at the launch in Germany.

Other originals are in the pipeline, such as "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" with Anthony Mackie (41) and Sebastian Stan (37), followed by the series "WandaVision", in which Elizabeth Olsen (31) and Paul Bettany (48) return as Scarlet Witch and Vision. Tom Hiddleston (39) slips into his role as favorite villain "Loki" in his own series. In addition, "Ms. Marvel", "Moon Knight" and "She-Hulk" are three other series under development.

Classic Disney films and series

Disney can look back on a generous repertoire of popular film classics. You can choose from "Ariel the Mermaid", "Bambi" and "The Jungle Book". Both "Animated" and "Live Action" versions of "Aladdin", "Cinderella", "The Lion King" and "Beauty and the Beast" are available. The animation highlights "Frozen – Completely Unforforen", "Rapunzel – Newly Spoiled" and "Vaiana – Paradise Has a Snag" are just as missing as all "High School Musical" films, twice "Camp Rock", "The Chronicles of Narnia "or all parts of" Pirates of the Caribbean ".

You can also see the cult hits "Darling, I shrunk the children" from 1989 and "Cool Runnings – It's all there" from 1993. Jake Gyllenhaal (39) battles across the screens in "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time".

In addition to the Disney films, series such as "Phineas and Ferb", "The Gummy Bear Gang", "Hannah Montana" and the "DuckTales" are available for streaming. Hundreds of Disney Channel series, short films and specials are also offered.

Pixar film highlights

Among other things, Pixar is represented with "Everything is upside down", the three "Cars" films, the surprise hit "Coco – more alive than life!", "Monster AG" and the "Incredibles" at Disney Plus. Of course, "Finding Nemo" and "Finding Dorie" are not missing either. In addition, "Merida – Legend of the Highlands", "Above", "Ratatouille" and the first three "Toy Story" parts can be streamed at Disney Plus.

Greetings from the Marvel heroes

The Marvel heroes also find their streaming home on Disney Plus. In addition to the "Avengers" films – and with "Endgame" the most successful film of all time – the individual adventures of the superheroes are available from "Ant-Man" to "Guardians of the Galaxy" to "Thor". Those who are not yet familiar with the "X-Men" can do so – even "Wolverine: Way of the Warrior" is included. However, the "Iron Man" films with Robert Downey Jr. (54) and the "Deadpool" parts with Ryan Reynolds (43) are missing.

This includes the Marvel series "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" and "Marvel's Runaways" at Disney Plus.

The power is with Disney Plus

"Star Wars" fans get their money's worth with episodes one through eight. "The Ascent of Skywalker" will follow in summer 2020. The spin-offs "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" and "Solo: A Star Wars Story" are also available on the Disney Plus streaming service.

Series fans can look forward to "Star The Clone Wars", including the final season, as well as "Star Wars: The Adventures of Freemakers", "Star Wars Rebels" and "Star Wars Resistance" at Disney Plus.

"Avatar" and documentaries are also part of Disney Plus

That was not all. With the Oscar-winning box office hit "Avatar – Aufbruch nach Pandora" by director James Cameron (65), the second most successful film of all time joins number one, "Endgame". The cult films "Kevin – Alone at Home", "Mrs. Doubtfire – The Spiky Nanny", "Sister Act – A Heavenly Career" and "Scott & Huutsch" are waiting just like all four parts of "Ice Age" and the love film "During You slept".

Documentary enthusiasts will also get their money's worth under the National Geographic brand. There are Oscar winners "Free Solo", the BAFTA-nominated documentary "Jane", the Sundance Award winner "Science Fair" and the series "One Strange Rock", moderated by Will Smith (51), at Disney Plus Available. In the documentary "Before the Flood" Leonardo DiCaprio (45) meets prominent politicians and personalities with whom he discusses the consequences of climate change.

Disney Plus delivers manageable new material at the start in Germany. Die-hard fans of animation classics, Marvel heroes, the far, far away galaxy and Co. will get their money's worth with the well-known films and series as well as exciting documentaries.
