Disney+: programs not to be missed in July 2022

On Disney+, the month of July will be either religious or completely pagan. By order of God and its mystical investigation, supported by the iconic Santa Evita will face in particular the return of American Horror Story with its strange characters. We will also be entitled to a second season of the sympathetic Only Murders in the Buildingmovie and new episodes of Bob’s Burgerand to Pistola series about the punk band Sex Pistols.

There is a real vibes True Detective with this miniseries commissioned by FX. By order of God follows Jeb Pyre, a Mormon detective investigating the murder of a woman and her baby in suburban Salt Lake City in 1984. A very violent crime that actually has its roots in the development of the Church of Jesus -Christ of the Latter Day Saints, those of the Mormons therefore, and in religious fundamentalism. The detective’s faith will therefore be put to the test. Unlike the HBO series, this one is nevertheless sadly inspired by real events. It is the always very fair Andrew Garfield who occupies the top of the poster, in front of the camera and on a script by Dustin Lance Black, Oscar for best screenplay in 2009 for his film on Harvey Milk. Beautiful people therefore, for a program that promises to be promising both in terms of its story and its very neat production.

If you don’t know the story of Eva Peron, brace yourself. Died at the age of 33 from cervical cancer, she was the wife of Argentine President Juan Peron. After the death of his wife in 1952, the latter embalmed her corpse and exposed it to the open air for three years, while waiting for the construction of a monument that was never erected. In 1955, the country’s government was overthrown and the remains therefore fell into the hands of the putschists. For 19 years, so that no one can make it a symbol of resistance, it will be kept incommunicado. A completely crazy story adapted here in series, with big means, in particular the use of 1300 extras and a faithful reconstruction of Buenos Aires in the 1950s.

Created by Ryan Murphy, this anthology series made the heyday of Netflix in France, before the takeover of Fox, and therefore of the FX channel, by Disney. Like the Marvel series last month, so it’s a homecoming for American Horror Story, which arrives with its first nine seasons – the tenth is currently on Canal+, which has a partnership with FX. Of The House of Horror at 1984 Passing by Asylum Where Roanoke, you will be able to discover or rediscover this fiction which explores different sub-genres of horror in each season, each time taking up at least part of the previous cast. The result is often disturbing, sometimes a bit extreme, but always cult.
