With recent changes at disneyTHE Marvel Cinematic Universe going to slow down a bit this year. On the cinema side, we were therefore entitled to Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 looms on the horizon since it will land next month in theaters and we will have to wait until the end of the year before discovering The Marvels, which was postponed. On Disney+there will be few projects, with at least season 2 of Loki (if not impacted by Jonathan Majors’ legal setbacks) and before that series Secret Invasion. It is the latter that interests us now, since it has just been entitled to a new trailer and a release date.

This story featuring the Skrulls and finally bringing back Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) on the front of the stage can be discovered from Wednesday, June 21, at the rate of one episode per week for a total of six. With its direction of spy thriller, there is no doubt that we will be kept in suspense. THE trailer of the day and an article by Vanity Fair rich in detail all the same clarifies the basic plot. It will take place in the “present” of the mcu (the timeline is quite messy post Endgame though) whilea rebel faction of Skrulls plans to invade Earth by placing his shapeshifting double agents in positions of power. This group of extremists, who got tired of waiting for promises of a new home from Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) and Fury come true, does not hesitate to provoke attacks, as shown by the scene in Russia with the leader Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir), or at least a character who took on his appearance.
It is therefore a tough fight awaiting the former director of the SHIELDwho can still count on some allies like Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and James Rhodes (Don Cheadle), who is now the right arm of the President of the United States. The former agent of MI6 Sonya Falsworth (Olivia Colman) being portrayed as an antagonistic presence, her aiding under the guise of protecting her country might just be the tip of the iceberg. After all, appearances will be deceiving in the series.
We also learn that the character played by Emilia Clarke is none other than the daughter of Talos, G’iah, who has therefore grown up well and will oppose his father by joining the rebels. Finally, if you ever wonder why Nick Fury no longer has his eye patch in certain scenes, it’s not because he miraculously healed, but rather an element of the scenario to show his vulnerability in particular. Likewise, the reason why he does not appeal to what remains of the avengers should be given to us.
