Disney+ is expanding its offering: With three new subscription models, the streaming service will offer its users a larger selection from November.

One becomes three: the popular one Streaming service Disney+, the home of “Marvel” and “Star Wars,” among others, is introducing a new subscription model in Germany on November 1st. Instead of the previously only available subscription model for 8.99 euros per month or 89.90 euros as an annual subscription, there will now be three different models that customers can choose from. The three subscription models at a glance.

Standard with advertising

From now on, customers can choose a more affordable subscription model than before. The “Standard with advertising” tariff costs 5.99 euros per month. There are commercial breaks at the beginning of a program and in series in between. All Disney+ content is available. An annual subscription cannot be booked. Two streams can be watched at the same time. The video quality goes up to Full HD, stereo 5.1 is also offered. Downloads are not possible in the tariff with advertising.

default

The “Standard” subscription model can now be booked for the previous monthly price of 8.99 euros or 89.90 euros for an annual subscription. There are no commercial breaks here, all Disney+ content is still available. The video quality here is now a maximum of Full HD, and stereo 5.1 is available on the sound level. Two instead of the previous four simultaneous streams are possible. The usual download function is still available here.

Premium

The “Premium” subscription option is new: For a monthly price of 11.99 euros or an annual price of 119.90 euros, customers receive four simultaneous streams as well as the option for downloads – without advertising, of course. The video quality ranges up to 4K UHD & HDR, and Dolby Atmos is offered in the audio area.

This will change for existing customers from November 1st

The three new subscription models will apply from November 1st to all new subscribers and all returning subscribers, which means people who have already had a Disney+ subscription in the past and now want to take out one again.

For existing customers, nothing will initially change with November 1st and the change in subscription models. You will receive the “Premium” tariff at your previous standard price. Customers can also switch to the “Standard with advertising” model if they wish. Disney reserves the right to adjust prices for existing customers in the future, but when that will happen is not yet clear.
