Dispute after drug deal – Suspect in custody after stomach stab during robbery

After a knife attack on a 19-year-old in Innsbruck’s Amberggasse a few weeks ago, the police were now able to identify a suspect. A lot was also known about the background to the crime: It was said to have been about a drug deal.

As the “Krone” reported, the 19-year-old Moroccan is said to have been robbed by two unknown men on January 22nd. They took an unknown amount of cash from him and fled. Based on these and with the help of Facebook photos, the victim was able to “unambiguously identify” a suspect, as the executive explains. He was a 26-year-old Somali who was arrested in Innsbruck on Tuesday. The suspect confessed during questioning that he had injured the 19-year-old with a knife. Previously, an argument was said to have occurred during a drug deal, with the 19-year-old allegedly attacking the 26-year-old with pepper spray.
