After a knife attack on a 19-year-old in Innsbruck’s Amberggasse a few weeks ago, the police were now able to identify a suspect. A lot was also known about the background to the crime: It was said to have been about a drug deal.

Based on these and with the help of Facebook photos, the victim was able to “unambiguously identify” a suspect, as the executive explains. He was a 26-year-old Somali who was arrested in Innsbruck on Tuesday. The suspect confessed during questioning that he had injured the 19-year-old with a knife. Previously, an argument was said to have occurred during a drug deal, with the 19-year-old allegedly attacking the 26-year-old with pepper spray.
