- The unions Kapers, Aeropers, VPOD, SEV GATA and the commercial association are protesting against the use of Air Baltic aircraft and crews at Swiss.

The Latvian airline Air Baltic is to operate up to six aircraft on behalf of Swiss in the coming winter flight schedule. The protest letter from the unions states that this undercuts the cost structure in Switzerland.
In the last few weeks and months, the social partners have held numerous talks to defuse the situation. There was never any mention of a partner from abroad. Now the Swiss have created facts.
Unions condemned this step
They called on Swiss to only conclude such wet lease agreements with partners who had socially acceptable employment conditions and collective labor agreements. Wage cost comparisons must be submitted for all third-party providers.
The trade unions are also calling on Swiss to significantly improve employment conditions in Switzerland in order to be attractive on the labor market. Swiss had to revise its decision on the wet lease agreement with Air Baltic. It undermines the cooperation between the social partners in Swiss aviation.
