The French are called to the polls again on June 30 and July 7, to elect new deputies. Emmanuel Macron announced this Sunday evening the dissolution of the National Assembly, following the results of the European elections, and the large victory of the National Rally. If Marine Le Pen’s party obtained a majority of seats, Jordan Bardella could become Prime Minister. A hypothesis which seems credible after Sunday’s vote, and which appears to be a colossal challenge for the RN.

On Sunday, after the euphoria of the results, Jordan Bardella appeared with a face full of seriousness. In four weeks, the National Rally could obtain a majority and therefore have to form a government. An upheaval in the history of the RN, until now always confined to the opposition. At the origin of the dissolution, the party changed dimensions in 24 hours. Jordan Bardella could thus, at 28 years old, access Matignon.

For Marine Le Pen, “it is necessary to unite all those who want a post-Macron”

A dizzying challenge for many, but not for Marine Le Pen, questioned during the night from Sunday to Monday at party headquarters. “No, dizzying, no, it’s not dizzying, but it’s historic. Therefore, I think it is necessary to unite all those who want the post-Macron era, who wish to initiate another policy on bases which obviously are common bases So, we will initiate these discussions in the coming days.

Marine Le Pen thus wishes to unite beyond the RN and everything will be decided in the next 48 hours. One thing is certain, there will be no organizational agreement with the Republicans or Reconquest, but the National Rally intends to broaden its base and this will notably involve the creation of a platform, a sort of antechamber of the RN, for personalities deemed “National Rally compatible”, but who do not wish to be candidates with the party label.

“These could be people from the Republicans, the patriotic left and perhaps sometimes from Zemmour,” says Sébastien Chenu. The party is in any case looking for qualified profiles, senior civil servants in particular, likely to lend credibility to the RN’s government project and to support its potential first steps at Matignon.
