Distrust of the media is increasing, according to the La Croix-Kantar barometer

The annual La Croix-Kantar barometer on French people’s trust in the media has just been unveiled. Two major trends emerge from this study: fatigue with current affairs and distrust. Despite everything, the French always want to be informed.

Here are the main trends from this study carried out by The crossand Kantar: saturation and general confidence in decline. 51% of those questioned feel tired or rejected by current events.

Growing distrust of the media

And according to 48% of these people, it’s because we always talk about the same subjects. The study also notes the progression of a trend: distrust.

24% of those under 35 get their information from influencers

For 57% of those questioned, or 3% more than a year ago, we should be wary of what the major media say on major current affairs issues. When asked what media do you use to keep yourself informed, radio is always in a good place. But the most significant progress is for the Internet, which has gained ten points in one year… Note that among those under 35, 24% get their information daily via influencers.
