By partnering with NNG, Dacia wants to simplify the updating of navigation maps of its vehicles.

Dacia, whose new Duster should arrive very soon, allows Dacia drivers to benefit from map updates, thanks to their smartphone.

Dacia: simplified GPS updates and 3 years of free updates

Because it is not always easy to update the navigation maps of your vehicle, the manufacturer Dacia has teamed up with NNG, an international company developing the next generations of navigation and infotainment systems for large global automotive companies, with a view to simplifying the process.

In doing so, Dacia drivers, such as the new electric Spring which seems to have small charger problems, have the possibility of making their map updates directly from their smartphone. Everything will go through a dedicated mobile application, namely Dacia Map Update.

Dacia Map Update, how does it work?

Thanks to Dacia Map Update, users have the opportunity to select, download and purchase the latest content they want. Then simply connect your phone to the vehicle using a USB cable, open the application, and finally download the selected maps directly to Dacia Media Nav.

Dacia explains that updates now require around fifteen minutes, “ which represents a saving of time for Dacia customers » according to the brand. The first six updates, two each year for three years, are free. At the end of these three years, the driver will be able to purchase the cards that they specifically wish to update in their vehicle.

In terms of availability, the Dacia Map Update application can be found now for smartphones powered by Android. The application will soon be available on iOS, and it is already compatible with Dacia vehicles equipped with a Media Nav system with the Android Auto function.
