Doctor Who: a delightful trailer for the new season coming to Disney+

Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson will see all the colors in the new season of Doctor Who. The latter will land on Disney+ from May 11, 2024 and its trailer gives a glimpse of the adventures that await the Doctor and Ruby Sunday.

In this new season, the fifteenth Doctor and his traveling companion Ruby will visit many universes. They will pass through the English Regency, the Abbey Road studios in the 1970s (where they will meet the Beatles) or even extraterrestrial worlds, and will face terrible adversaries.

One of them is played by the American drag queen Jinkx Monsoon. We do not yet know the identity of his character, but we do know that it is a key role described as being the “the most powerful enemy the Doctor has ever encountered.”

Note that this new season will also be marked by the return of Yasmin Finney (Heartstopper) and Bonnie Langford (Doctor Who (1963)) under the respective guise of Rose Noble and Mel Bush.

The return of an acclaimed screenwriter

If Russell T. Davis is back at the helm of Doctor Who for this first season, he is not the only veteran of the show (of which he served as showrunner from 2005 to 2010) to return aboard the TARDIS.

The BBC recently confirmed that Steven Moffat, who took over from Davis at the helm of the show from 2010 to 2017, is also back and is writing the script for an episode of this new season. Moffat (to whom we also owe the series Sherlock) is behind some of the most notable episodes of Doctor Who (2005)of which Blink with its terrifying weeping angels.

If we don’t know what Moffat’s new episode will be about, we know that it will be directed by Julie-Anne Robinson (The Bridgerton Chronicles, Orange is the New Black), who is also directing two of the new episodes of this new season.
