Reversal of the situation aboard the TARDIS. Contrary to what was previously announced, Millie Gibson will not return the keys to the time (and space) machine of Doctor Who anytime soon. The young actress will not be replaced by Varada Sethu in season 2, but rather accompanied by the latter in the next adventures with the Doctor.
Two companions for the price of one
While the first season of this new version of Doctor Who is coming soon to Disney+, filming for season 2 is well underway and we now know that Ncuti Gatwa will have one more traveling companion in these episodes, which are scheduled for release in 2025.
As he has done in the past, the Doctor will be accompanied by two people in search of adventure. One is Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), whom the public was able to discover in the Christmas episode broadcast last December, and the other will be played by Varada Sethu. We don’t yet know the details surrounding his character, but this trio promises to spark sparks in the four corners of the galaxy!

“I feel like the luckiest person in the world. It’s a real honor to be a part of the Whoniverse, and I thank the whole Doctor Who family – because that’s who they are – to welcome me with open arms and make me feel at home.”
While waiting for these adventures of the Fifteenth Doctor and his two traveling companions, which will always be supervised by showrunner Russell T. Davis, the first season of Doctor Who (2023) arrives on the Disney+ streaming platform on May 11.
