“Dofus 2 Unity will be released in 2024”

Dofus 2 Unity will arrive according to the latest comments from Ankama in 2024. However, with the interfaces and appearances of the characters, many points are still to be clarified. And without Krosmonote, all that’s left is one live stream before the end of the year to find out more.

Ankama Live Dofus 2 Unity – Summary

Logan, Papinaut and Lakha, the Producers team, are expected at the turn for the end of the year. The Dofus project lacks content and players still have many questions surrounding the Unity port. If the CM confirms the release date for “2024”, it is high time to present more in terms of characters, interfaces or even gameplay. Ankama Live will also be an opportunity to formalize a handover from Logan, recently moving away specifically from Dofus to attack other games more generally, such as Wakfu. Papinaut appears to be his direct successor, alongside Lakha.

Appointment on December 20, 2023 at 6 p.m.
on Twitch in any case to follow the news around Dofus 2 Unity. The development team also announces “regular lives” to “continuously” keep players informed of progress. A sort of advent calendar to wait for the final arrival of the port on PCs.

The summary of Ankama Live

If you’re feeling lost, you can catch up on all the information around the Unity port via our summary article, from 2020. And there’s been a lot.

On hold…

Start of live: 6 p.m.

Lakha is ultimately not present for health reasons. The aim of the live will be to provide a recap, as well as new information. Logan and Papinaut therefore go straight into the hard part, presenting the interfaces directly in game.

The encyclopedia interface will now open much faster, in 3 frames according to Papinaut. The current version is a hybrid prototype, with a few missing features to tease.

As expected, all interfaces are much better organized. And the themes are already changeable, for the moment without external customization.

All classes will be entitled to an overhaul of their class spells in terms of animations. All equipment will also have a new design. Yes, that makes for redesigns.

The class in parma is a Steameuse

Creature mode remains in the game and can be activated instantly from anywhere in the game. New ones will obviously arrive (the build currently contains the old ones). The summons also get a makeover.

Inventory Interface (WIP)

Some dungeon maps with the new engine are shown. Overall, it’s about animating the settings and adding shaders. Videos will be available on the article after Ankama Live.

According to performance tests, the game performs much better, even with 40 characters on a single map. Basically, on the prototype version, Dofus runs at 70 fps. Multi-account has been taken into account and all animations can be disabled.

Tests are underway to activate “weather” (rain), night (physically on a map) or simply Amakna under the snow modes.

After the gameplay sequence, the presentation

Logan and Papinaut leave the Unity client to go directly to a more conventional Powerpoint presentation. It will mainly be about presenting what was possible on the gameplay side. We start by customizing your avatars, with new elements for example.

The costumes will finally return, in full, with the Unity port. Important note: no, it will not be possible to return to the old DA using an option.

On the interface side, it is mainly a reminder. We invite you in particular to consult the summary article, Japan Expo 2023 section.
