Dofus 2.63 update is coming very soon! This patch” At the Evil Grove takes up a new narrative arc and above all takes care of the first big content of the year. Zone overhaul, Ocher Dofus, class balancing and even overhaul of sets 100 to 150! We take a look at the different modifications.
DOFUS 2.63: Update 2.63, Spring Beta and Changelog
For this first patch of the year, the Dofus team wanted to think big. 2.63 retouches a large number of features, classes or areas. Logan speaks of a “clean” for prepare Unityand you can see that it is, with an impressive number of small improvements everywhere!
Zone revamp: The Evil Forest and Amakna?
The main line of Dofus 2.63 is the redesign of the evil forest, “Le Mal Bosquet”. This is also accompanied by retouching on other places in Amakna, gently leading to a complete revision of the area. For the forest itself, a link is reinforced with Terrakourial. Hell Mina becomes master of the region, ejecting Bworks and Chafers for a single monster family: Malters.
The size of the area is adapted, with an enlargement of the Dreggon positions and a relocation of the Al Howin dungeon. 2 level 150 areas with a dungeon will be accessible. Boost potions will still not work, but marriage will only work between positions in the forest. To compensate, there will be more exits/entries and the labyrinthine dimension is only present for certain quests.
But that’s not all ! As a bonus to this revamp, the Goblins of Camp Bwork see the arrival of a new series of quests, parallel to those of Hell Mina and Terrakourial, as well as a dungeon, this time level 40. More generally, the monster family evolves.
New stuff in the update
Who says overhaul or addition of monsters, also says new equipment and new outfits! No stuff 200, but the long-awaited integration of little-used elements and routes, especially at lower levels. Do Pou or Support, there is something for everyone.
New for the Ocher Dofus in 2.63
The changes mentioned in previous devblogs are applied with the 2.63 update. The boxes and tokens become “Bouataklônes” and “Divine Truks” allowing the appearance of “Archikhlones”, acting as substitute Archimonsters. A separate series is also appearing to detail the history of Terrakourial. The icing on the Dofus, a new teleportation potion will transport you directly to Otomai’s laboratory!
Changes around guilds
The Social overhaul continues! If the Alliance against Alliance is still waiting, the guilds are undergoing a new wave of improvements. And no, not just on the interface side! Indeed, a guild chest, shared between all members, appears.
Improved in-game transport
In order to make the game more pleasant to navigate, Ankama is carrying out several actions on different systems. First, Sufokia and Frigost gain services! The marine town with new stops and workshops, the Village with Zaapis.
But that’s not all. For the characters who have overcome the first dungeon of a dimension, a craftable potion by the fishermen will allow them to teleport directly to the gods! They can be used once, with a recipe based on pebbles from the Almanax and monsters from lower-level areas.
Bulk balancing and in-game readability
Update 2.63 brings a lot of changes to clean up the game before porting to Unity. Thus, its changelog is littered with debugs and game design improvements. There are even more than in 2.59, when this patch was dedicated to it. A notable change is for example the automation of Mastery of Summons. Casting the spell now only deactivates the effects, however cancellable with 2 uses per turn and a Retro animation.
Still on the side of important modifications, all the prysmaradites go to level 200 in order to make the gameplay of PvP BL-THL fairer. The impact will be particularly felt for PvP 199. In bulk, we can also mention Foggernaut Turrets, playing correctly against Ouginaks or with a visible evolution in the form of a status icon. For items, the Lavaforge Dofus now only triggers on enemy movements and the Mottled correctly allows you to gain damage on the same target.
Class balances for Dofus 2.63
If the update was only to contain the Iop and Enutrof revamps, it finally offers a lot of balancing on other classes. You will also notice a lot of work to improve the descriptions, icons, states and especially displays to make the fights clearer and more fluid.
Monster Modifications
Quite unexpectedly and without announcing it live, the Dofus team made some changes to monsters of all levels. Whether it’s to make them less frustrating or nullify PL techniques, there’s something for everyone.
Queen of Thieves | Warning – Hits all allies (Circle 8), can no longer be unbewitched Cheating now plays first Poison is reduced to 1 turn |
Chaloeil | The boss applies a penalty of 100 Infinite Tackle, per turn, around him |
XLII | Vindeux – No longer heals players |
Chief Crocodyl | Adjustment of resistors |
Chafer Archer | The Intelligence penalty goes to 2 turns (against 5) |
Diamantine | Bone spell now has a fixed gold |
Kwakere | Cumulative power penalty: infinite => 3 |
Count Razov | The Boss can no longer lose resistances to Do Pou |
Bethel Akarna | Tentacle Clusters are no longer invisible |
Villinsets | Groups respawn faster |
For quest lovers, the fight against Bavdur is slightly simplified. Pandora no longer teleports against the monster but the monster instead gains a damage maximization effect (like Brokle)
Redesign of equipment 100 to 150
All sets from level 100 to 150 are improved. Their bonuses from 1 to 7 items evolve to compete with 3rd generation trophies. Some will barely raise an eyebrow and yet, this is a complete shake-up of the meta for these level brackets. Many sets gain an AP, MP or Range bonus, allowing much more interesting and viable stuff.
