With the Alta Moda show last year in Venice, the designer duo from Dolce & Gabbana took fashion shows to a new level. This year they want to go one better in Sicily and celebrate a big celebrity party.

The Italian fashion label Dolce & Gabbana is famous for its colorful designs, opulence and theatricality. Especially at the Alta Moda shows, the creativity of the designers Domenico Dolce, 63, and Stefano Gabbana, 59, knows no bounds. As early as 2021, they staged their latest couture pieces in the dreamy setting of Venice. One item on the program received a lot of attention at the time: Leni Klum, 18, walked the catwalk. It was her first big catwalk job after Fashion Week in Berlin.

This year the luxury label has again come up with something special for its fashion show and is relocating the big spectacle to the Sicilian city of Syracuse, which offers the perfect backdrop with its ancient sights. Even before the models step onto the runway, the event begins with a big dance performance including a procession of saints.

White bridal robes, dresses with angel wings or putti on the sleeves – the designs of the couture robes combine Italian art, religion, tradition and history into a new work of art. The spectacle is history and fairy tale at the same time. The designer duo describes their staging on Instagram as follows: “The unique pieces in the collection are profound representations of Sicily and its people and touch the mythical soil of the city’s oldest heart and are reminiscent of exquisite beauty, traditions and timeless Italian craftsmanship.”

With such a glamorous event, it is not surprising that there are numerous celebrities among the guests. The international crème de la crème met in Sicily on Saturday evening (9 July). Whether it’s Drew Barrymore, Mariah Carey, Sharon Stone, Helen Mirren, Kris Jenner, Heidi Klum, Robert Lewandowski with his wife or singer Ciara, the Alta Moda Show’s guest list is just as top-class as the couture designs on display.

A model is also part of the party again: Leni Klum is allowed to walk for the label at the Alta Moda Show for the second time. She wears a black boning crepe dress embroidered with croc printed foil fabric and crystals. Mama Heidi in particular is rooting for her eldest daughter and then proudly posts Leni’s walk on Instagram.
