/ Mom / Child / "The Trolls": a doll accused of promoting child crime has been withdrawn

After a series of complaints about the “Poppy” doll, Hasbro decided to take the product off the shelves.

This doll, called "Poppy" in the effigy of the little magical creatures from the children's film "The Trolls", was marketed by the Hasbro brand. At first glance, the adorable doll looks like other toys, it has a button on its stomach so you can talk. But an American mom spotted a second button, at the crotch. When she pressed it, Poppy started to squeal or sigh. To warn about the dangerousness of this doll, she posted a video on social networks. "I wanted to make this little video because I find it disturbing and I think I have to share it", says the mother of a 2-year-old girl.

A petition to alert the world

Soon, many parents sounded the alarm bells, the doll being accused of normalizing pedophile acts. To have it removed by the giant Hasbro, a petition has been posted by Jessica McManis on the Change.org site. “Look at this Poppy doll. She sighs and screams with joy when the button on her private parts is pressed. They are conditioning our children to think pedophilia is normal. And to make them believe that when someone touches your private parts, it must be funny. But this is not normal! ", writes the young woman.

This available video was reported by Facebook saying it was partially fake because the button was originally a sensor to make the doll react when the child puts her in a sitting position on a chair.

Thanks to this petition, which already has nearly 490,000 signatures, Hasbro apologized and decided to stop the marketing of this product, offering to exchange it for another toy of the same value.
