Donald Trump: That's what the celebrities say about his corona infection

US President Donald Trump and the First Lady have been infected with Covid-19. Celebrities are now asking to keep wearing a mask.

Donald Trump (74) and his wife Melania (50) have tested positive for the corona virus. Both the President and First Lady of the United States did on October 2nd announced on Twitter. Within a very short time, there were countless reactions to the news on social media – including from a few celebrities.

"I would not wish my worst enemy a virus"

Alyssa Milano (47, "Charmed") spoke up as one of the first celebrities after the Trump's illness became known. The US actress was also infected a few months ago. "As someone who has had Covid-19 and is still suffering from Post-Covid Syndrome, I can say with all that I am that I would not wish this virus to my worst enemy", explains Milano. She also called on her followers to please continue to wear protective masks.

The "Star Wars" legend Mark Hamill (69) hopes meanwhile on Twitterthat Trump's infection could have an impact on his followers. "If anything positive could come of his positive test, it would be for his followers to reconsider their opinions." If they would now accept lockdown, social distancing and the obligation to wear masks, "we could crush this virus as we should have done from the beginning". In a hashtag, however, he indicated that he was skeptical, because he also believed in the tooth fairy.

His colleague Tessa Thompson (36), known among other things from the series "Westworld", was very brief and got to the point. "Reminder: wear a mask", she commented on Twitter.

The US director James Mangold (56, "Logan – The Wolverine") published meanwhile including a GIF, on which Trump's presidential challenger Joe Biden, 77, can be seen putting on a mouth and nose mask. "Wear a mask," it says below. He also pointed out that Trump had previously made fun of Biden because, in his opinion, he was apparently too cautious. In the first TV debate about the US election, the president said, among other things: "I wear masks when I need them. I don't wear masks like him. Whenever you see him, he has a mask."

Billy Eichner (42), who, like many other stars, is a staunch Trump opponent, could hardly believe the news. "OH MY GOD.", wrote the comedian and actors. He also indicated that he apparently made the sarcastic comments that were typical for him have to resist: "Don't twitter it, Billy. Don't twitter it. Put the phone down."

DeRay Mckesson (35) apparently has doubts that the Trumps are actually ill. "We really can't believe a word of this man", wrote the activist and author.

The US Vice President, Mike Pence (61), however, and his wife Karen (63) wished Trump a speedy recovery. He is sending their "love and prayers". Together with millions of Americans, he prayed for the full and speedy recovery of the President and First Lady.

Also the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson (56), wished a speedy recovery on Twitter. "Hope they both make a quick recovery from the coronavirus," he said, among other things. Johnson was sick with Covid-19 himself a few months ago.
