While Apple presented its M1 Ultra chip and its Mac Studio, all eyes are already on the future and future announcements. We are obviously expecting a new Mac mini, MacBooks galore and a new generation of chip: the M2. Those who appreciate the iMac format, on the other hand, will have to wait.

According to information from 9to5Mac, Apple would therefore be working on the new generation of computers equipped with this M2 chip. MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini… rumors are rife, but one format is not currently being considered: the iMac. No high-end model of the all-in-one computer is currently in the boxes of the Apple brand.

Admittedly, a 24-inch iMac could well arrive in 2023, without embarking the new generation of Apple processors, but no 27-inch model is currently planned. So don’t expect a full-size iMac or a powerful version equipped with a Pro, Mac or Ultra chip.

An M2 chip is expected at WWDC next June, to equip new MacBooks by the end of the year. As for desktop computers, we would therefore have to wait a while longer. Obviously, these are still only rumors and it could be that the plans of the Apple brand change quickly, but hope is still low.
