Haaland consultants do not want to rule out Bavaria

Star player agent Mino Raiola thinks a transfer of Borussia Dortmund’s top striker Erling Haaland in the coming summer is likely. “Maybe this summer, maybe in the summer after. But there is a great chance that Erling will leave this summer,” said the 54-year-old in an interview with Sport1 when asked when the Norwegian’s next career step will come.
“He can and will take the next step. Bayern, Real, Barcelona, City – these are the big clubs he can go to,” said Raiola. “City has won the championship five times in recent years, significantly more than United. We all knew when we moved to Dortmund that this step would come.”
Much respect for Dortmund
The consultant, who also looks after Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelo Lukaku and Paul Pogba, expressed his respect for BVB with reference to Haaland: “A transfer last summer would definitely have been better for you economically. But you have after the welfare of the club look, after the fans, the team and the success. I have a lot of respect for this decision.
Raiola wants to sit down with the Bundesliga club this winter and talk about the future of the 21-year-old. However, he does not expect a decision on Haaland’s future in the next few weeks. “We will tell BVB what our idea is and BVB will tell us its ideas,” he said. “But no decision will be made in winter.” Haaland has been playing in Dortmund since January 2020 and has a contract with the Revierklub until June 30, 2024.
“I think we’ll talk in the next few weeks,” said BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke when asked about the future of the 21-year-old after the meaningless 5-0 victory in the Champions League against Besiktas Istanbul on Amazon. “It’s not about an extension either, but about whether a clause will be drawn in the summer or not.” According to this clause, Haaland, who has now scored 74 goals in 72 competitive games for BVB, will be able to change clubs next summer for a sum of less than 100 million euros.
