Dr Dre: the incredible sum that the rapper will have to pay his wife for their divorce

Still DRE but a little less rich. A year and a half after Nicole Young filed for divorce, the rapper ended their 25-year marriage by agreeing to a financial deal. For many months, the two ex-spouses had been mired in a tough legal battle over the fortune of the legendary producer, estimated at one billion dollars. According to TMZ, Dr. Dre finally resolved to pay Nicole Young an incredible sum: $ 100 million, half now, the rest next year. The rapper will keep all seven properties the former couple owned, including a house in Malibu, two properties in Calabasas and four homes in the Los Angeles area. It will also be able to keep its master registrations, trademarks, Apple shares, and interests in partnerships and trusts.

The former couple, on the other hand, will have to divide their car collection: six for Dr Dre and four for Nicole Young. According to TMZ, she will also be able to keep her vast collection of jewelry but also cash and the bank account she opened during their marriage. A source said Dr Dre was “delighted” that his ex-wife only received a small portion of his fortune. The famous producer is indeed at the head of an estimated wealth of a billion dollars, making him the third richest rapper in the world behind Jay Z (1 billion dollars) and Kanye West (3.2 billion dollars ). The majority of his money comes from the sale of his brand, Beats Electronics, of which he held a little over 20%. As a reminder, Dr Dre married Nicole Young on May 25, 1996.

Nicole Young accused Dr Dre of violence

The couple had two children, a son Truice, born in 1997 and a daughter, Truly, born in 2001. She filed for divorce in the summer of 2020, citing irreconcilable differences and busy schedules. She accused him of domestic violence. “His long-term abuse must be a factor taken into account by the court in awarding alimony”Nicole Young’s lawyers wrote in a legal document. Charges strongly denied by Dr Dre. “After learning about Nicole’s false accusations of domestic violence last August, I realized that I didn’t know the woman I had married and loved”, he explained in court. After months of battle, Dr Dre and Nicole Young will therefore be able to move on.
