dr Johannes Wimmer could not and did not want to suppress his feelings when he was reminded of the death of his daughter Maximilia on the NDR Talk Show and fought back tears.
A particularly emotional moment on the NDR talk show last Friday (October 14, 2022): Dr. Johannes Wimmer, 39, cried in front of the cameras. The reason was the death of his nine-month-old daughter Maximilia. The girl died in November 2020 as a result of a brain tumor. The doctor and TV presenter moved so many people with his story of the struggle for his daughter’s survival. Now Dr. Johannes Wimmer’s memories again.
dr Johannes Wimmer cannot hold back his feelings
The trigger for Wimmer’s emotional outburst was the appearance of musician Gregor Meyle, 44, who presented his song “Equilibrium”. In it he sings, among other things: “I’m overwhelmed by the way you stand in front of me. How naturally it all turns out well. If you take it seriously, I’ve just been lucky. With you I can find my balance.”
After the performance, Dr. Johannes Wimmer started to cry: “I have to collect myself for a moment. I was at my dead daughter’s grave today and … That’s why I don’t like hearing German songs so much.” Johannes Wimmer and Gregor Meyle hug and the TV doctor continues: “The family is still on vacation and somehow I felt the need to go there on the way here. […] These are the moments that you can’t get back, where you think I would have given everything for every moment.” The other guests were moved, but moderator Bettina Tietjen, 62, was able to deal with the situation well and return to the planned process.
Honest words on Instagram
On Instagram, Dr. Johannes Wimmer said at the moment: “I didn’t have the emotional cover at the top. Gregor Meyle also wrote the song for his own daughter, so it became too much. Then I always think that nobody sees it, that it’s me Then you can feel the cameras are there. You try to fight it inside, then your heart starts beating and I thought, ‘God, am I doing something wrong?!'”
But then Wimmer stated: “It can also be like that for a moment when you catch yourself again.” His followers agree with him in the comments and are touched by his appearance and the honest words.
