Dr. Wimmer: Dying daughter was allowed to witness the wedding

Dr. Johannes Wimmer got married. As the TV doctor announced, even his terminally ill daughter Maximilia was allowed to attend the wedding.

Dark is the word that Johannes Wimmer uses to describe the current time. But he is not only talking about the current corona pandemic. In August, the TV doctor made public that his eight-month-old daughter is terminally ill.

Now Dr. Wimmer, however, returned with positive news: The doctor announced his wedding on Sunday evening! On Friday he and his wife Clara are said to have married. The ceremony is said to have taken place in the registry office Hamburg-Altona in the smallest circle. One guest was there anyway: daughter Maximilia was able to witness her parents' marriage despite her serious illness.

Daughter Maximilia was allowed to be there

"Just the two of us and our little astronaut", describes Dr. Whimper the marriage. This is what the father affectionately calls his daughter, who is currently on a trip to Mars, as he announced on Instagram a few weeks ago. Maximilia has an aggressive brain tumor. The family made their daughter's fate public in August. In October, Dr. Wimmer then announced that "now a path of sad certainty" lies ahead of them.

It is all the better that the family can fill the girl's last trip with positive moments: "A sign of love in a dark time," writes Dr. Wimmer to the wedding photo of him and his newlywed wife. It was a "day without glamor, glitter and fanfare, but with what matters in life".

Maximilia is said to have slept peacefully throughout the ceremony. After the marriage, the TV doctor cooked pasta for his family and in-laws. A completely normal and therefore all the more special day in current times.

We say congratulations and wish the family continued strength and all the best.
