49.3 for the weekend?
This is one of the direct consequences of the absence of an absolute majority for the executive. The government will not be able to rely on Les Républicains (LR) who have already spoken out against the budget. The 49.3 could be used at the end of the week and mentioned this Wednesday in the Council of Ministers, an essential step before having recourse to it in the hemicycle. Emmanuel Macron could announce it on Wednesday, on the occasion of the new political program of France 2 of which he is the guest.
3,500 amendments
Within the majority, no one has any illusions about the use of 49.3 but the calendar divides. Several executives plead for its rapid use in view of the known positions of the different groups. Others are in favor of a more constructive method by giving a chance to dialogue in order to justify its very probable use by the expected obstruction of the opposition. The 2023 budget project mobilizes all the deputies who tabled more than 3,500 amendments.
