December 4 is Dragon Age Day at Bioware, which breaks its silence a little about the next opus in development for so long.

The studio also behind the franchise Mass Effect has shared a new trailer presenting the world in which Dreadwolf will place his story. Unfortunately, we will have to be content with this for the moment, with Bioware promising to reveal everything about its next title… during the summer of 2024. That is exactly 10 years later Dragon Age Inquisition.

The wolf briefly leaves its den

In development since 2015, all the same, Dreadwolf very patiently bides his time in the Bioware forges. The once iconic studio has in fact been experiencing serious difficulties for several years (especially since the debacles Anthem And Mass Effect Andromeda).

Never mind, the studio is holding on and continuing to work on this new opus Dragon Age, the next title to come off its production lines. On this subject, we were treated to a new (and very short) trailer for Dragon Age Day. Lasting just under a minute, it introduces us to Thedas, the well-known world of the franchise, however undergoing significant changes compared to the events ofInquisition.

It is also an opportunity to very quickly see passages from the game itself, just to see what artistic direction has been adopted here by Bioware. Dreadwolf thus appears quite visually shimmering, but this remains insufficient to really judge it. As for the gameplay, you will still need to be (a lot) patient.

We said we’d see each other in ten years

At the end of this short trailer, Bioware invites us to mark our calendars for summer 2024, in order to attend a proper presentation of the game. This also nip in the bud rumors that Dreadwolf could have been released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S during this same period.

It even seems unlikely that it will be released next year, or in the best case before the end of year holidays. This would represent ten years of development for this continuation of the saga. Dragon Age. A truly colossal amount of time, and undoubtedly a huge pressure on Bioware’s shoulders.

Let us recall in fact that, after Dreadwolfthe studio is already preparing the ground for a sequel to Mass Effect. Let us therefore hope that his long-term work will bear fruit for his next game, in order to get back on track and regain his former reputation in the eyes of the industry and players.
