Because Toei Animation does not intend to release its goose that lays the golden eggs anytime soon, the year 2022 will see the return of the Dragon Ball Super license on the big screen. The next film finally details the springs of its intrigue.
The first trailer all in synthetic images unveiled last fall had already had the opportunity to titillate the curiosity of those who have remained faithful to the characters of Akira Toriyama. If the return to the front of the stage of a certain Son Gohan had already been recorded, the animation studio today delivers more details on the new antagonists who await our hair heroes in the next installment of Dragon Ball Super .
We don’t need another Super Hero
In new documents translated by the good care of the Gazouilleur account @DBSChronicles, executive producer Akio Iyoku explains the philosophy that guided the writing of this new feature film subtitled Super Hero:
The last Broly movie told the story of an ultimate fight, and we wanted to do it differently this time around. The idea was to bring out characters from the past to return to a situation where the Earth would be in danger, as in the past. We also wanted to write for characters other than Gokū or Bejīta: Gohan and Piccolo will be very present to fight the Red Ribbon army. We made this decision very early on, because it allows us to show a group where each member thinks differently from the others. The comic aspect is present, and you can find Akira Toriyama’s style in the dialogues and the character design of Super Hero.
After an interminable fight against Broly, Toei Animation would therefore have decided to return to the fundamentals and make Dragon Ball Super a tribute to the spirit of the manga of the 1980s. Enough to keep the spectators awake?

And because Akio Iyoku didn’t come out of his stash for nothing, he also clarifies the structure of the Super Hero movie: the first half will look at the return of the Red Ribbon army, introducing the duo (that the ‘we hope comical) Magenta-Dr Hedo, or the meeting between a captain of the pharmaceutical industry and a genius scientist:
Magenta and Dr. Hedo are only humans, so they don’t have any superpowers. But we spent a lot of time on their dialogues and behavior.
Finally, the spectators who will discover the next chapter of Dragon Ball Super will be able to discover the return to grace of some Z Warriors. Gohan and Piccolo have already been mentioned, but they will also be accompanied by the young Pan, trained by the latter. How far away, the time of post-Daimaō revenge …
