Dragon’s Dogma 2 struggles at 30 fps on consoles, the framerate is already debated

Dragon’s Dogma 2 promises to be a Action RPG unavoidable for all fans of the genre, the title of Capcom was approached by the specialized press, non-definitive opinions are already online, Game Informer was notably able to speak with Hideaki Itsuno, the director of the game.

The latter affirmed on social networks that THE frame rate of Dragon’s Dogma 2 will not be restricted, which is often good news on computers, but much rarer on consoles. The journalist therefore asked Hideaki Itsuno for explanations, who detailed:

The game has an unbridled framerate. We aim to get to around 30 fps, or above. It’s also for consoles. There are some settings you can turn on or off, but there aren’t a ton of settings you can change at once. But yes, the framerate will be unbridled on all consoles.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will therefore not offer several predefined graphics modeslike the famous Performance Or Quality On many modern titles, only one default mode will be available. But the frame rate is already debated, IGN indeed noted during her preview that the game, running in 4K on PS5, has frame drops during fights. Even though this is a version still under development, a frame rate limited to 30 fps would therefore have been preferable… On PC, the number of images per second will obviously depend on your configuration.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 release date is set for March 22, 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, you can pre-order it from €58.49 on Amazon, there Fnac And Gamesplanet.
