Dreame X-Series: an innovative range of robot vacuum cleaners full of tips

It’s difficult to follow the latest news from Dreame in terms of robot vacuum cleaners. After the surge of models presented at CES, the Chinese manufacturer welcomes spring with a new range of devices called X-Series. With three models, this range constitutes a move upmarket which still starts at €1,399. At this price, Dreame aims for excellence by equipping its devices with a host of features.

X40 Ultra Complete: heavy under the hood

The most high-end of the three – and therefore the most complete – is the X40 Ultra Complete. This model condenses all of the manufacturer’s know-how in terms of robot vacuum cleaners. Aside from its onboard 12,000 Pa – which in our opinion amounts to a vain race for power that cannot constitute a purchasing criterion for a robot vacuum cleaner – the X40 Ultra has many advantages to put forward. For example, the MopExtend technology, already seen and appreciated on the latest Dreame flagships, and which is used in particular to move the mop to the side to wash the floor against the walls. This technology would be improved here to allow the pad to “twist” in order to clean along walls or under low furniture up to 4 cm deep.

Added to this is the contortion of the small side brush, which can also telescope to the side and extend up to 10 mm from the vacuum cleaner to unearth dust located along the baseboards and ensure that they fall into the suction mouth (an idea nicely borrowed from Roborock; which is a good thing, since Roborock was inspired by the MopExtend function for its robot vacuum cleaners). This brush head, as well as the front roller and the pads, are all able to lift automatically around a carpet to avoid soiling this surface, and prevent “cross contamination“. And since we are talking about the brush, a new roller called TriCut 2.0 is equipped with a blade (nylon) which would be used to cut hair or fur to prevent them from getting tangled, and thus facilitate maintenance.

The X40 Ultra Complete also benefits from the new version of Dreame’s navigation system. Soberly named Clean Genius, this technology associated with OmniDirt detection should allow the robot to automatically detect waste on its path and adapt its cleaning duration and power. This will allow it to focus on the dirtiest areas to provide more thorough cleaning.

According to Dreame, the X40 Ultra Complete would be able to identify and avoid more than 80 types of objects and obstacles that are in its path thanks to its armada of sensors.

Simplified and even more scrupulous maintenance

The automatic emptying station — which automatically extracts waste from the collector, and moistens and cleans the wash pads — also gains functionality, and that’s good news for everything related to robot maintenance. From now on, the robot’s charging, emptying and cleaning base would be able to automatically wash the pads with water heated to 70°C – that’s 10°C more than most robot vacuum cleaners which are declining. this hot water wash function. Combined with hot air drying, this technology would eliminate even more bacteria and reduce the proliferation of odors to clean up the home.

For even more scrupulous cleaning, the X40 Ultra Complete comes with a washing plate into which the pads are inserted. This base is equipped with a small scraper which helps to unearth debris embedded in the skates. This once again makes it possible to limit the manual and delicate intervention of the user in the maintenance of their robot. For those who would like to connect their robot vacuum cleaner to the water drain, an optional kit is available.

The X40 Ultra Complete is therefore Dreame’s most complete model. It will be available from April 9 at €1,499 and will be delivered with various accessories (mop, filters, washing solution).

X40 Master: a compact station with an innovative format

What differentiates the X40 Master from the X40 Ultra Complete is its automatic emptying station with a much more streamlined design than that of the very high-end Dreame model. “Only” 28 cm high and similar to a Hi-Fi system, this compact and stylish station can more easily find its place in any interior, no matter how cramped.

Connected directly to a water inlet and outlet, the station has three bins: one to accommodate the dust bag, another to put a washing solution and a third which serves as filters for hair and large waste. For the rest, the emptying station provides the same services: automatic collection of the dust tank, cleaning of the pads at 70°C, hot air drying.

To date, neither the price nor the availability of the X40 Master have been announced.

X30 Ultra: the very complete entry-level

This model, which opens the X-Series range, certainly provides heavy artillery, but logically renounces certain options. Although it benefits from MopExtend technology, it loses the extendable side brush head which moves to clean along the baseboards.

His is frozen, like most robot devices. Its suction power is also lower (8300 Pa vs 12,000 Pa) and its station can certainly wash the skates with hot water but not above 60°C (vs 70°C for the two models above of range). The station can also be connected to a water supply if a kit is added. ad hoc (optional).

The release date of the Dreame X30 Ultra has not been specified, but its price, yes: €1,399.
