LChristelle’s father lived in a residential facility for dependent elderly people (Ehpad) in Drôme and suffered from very advanced emphysema and severe tremors, as reported by our colleagues from France Bleu. So, Christelle, who lives in the Var, did not immediately worry about not being able to reach her father. She put it down to illness. It will finally take a month to discover that the latter is deceased.

He had not indicated his daughter, but his half-sister, as “person to contact in case of emergency” with the nursing home. It was therefore this half-sister who was notified of his death by the establishment and neither she nor the establishment saw fit to notify the daughter of the deceased. Only, the half-sister in question did not wish to pay for the funeral of the septuagenarian and his body remained more than four weeks in the mortuary fridge of the local funeral directors.

Shocked by what she discovered and the treatment reserved for her father, the Varoise filed a complaint against X for “attacking the integrity of the corpse”. At the microphone of France Bleu, she expresses her anger against the funeral company: “There was a lack of respect for the remains, she laments. I consider that the undertakers had a role in informing me that my father was still in his dressing gown and that he had been, above all and above all, in a fridge for four weeks. »

For its part, the Ehpad rejects the responsibility on the daughter of the deceased and assures her: “It is a situation that she created by not coming to see her father. »
