Kyiv reports shooting down of Russian ships

Russia and Ukraine are fighting bitterly in the Black Sea. After the sinking of the Russian flagship “Moskva”, the Ukrainian army is now reporting another success: With the help of combat drones, two enemy patrol ships are said to have been destroyed. A video should serve as evidence.

Ukraine says it has attacked Russian ships with drones in the Black Sea. “Today at dawn near Snake Island, two Russian Raptor boats were destroyed,” Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zalushnyy said on Facebook.

A combat drone of the Turkish type “Bayraktar” (flag bearer) was used. A published video should show the successful shelling. The recordings could not be checked independently.

According to their own statements, the Ukrainian armed forces had previously attacked the air defenses on the occupied island twice with rockets. The island, about 35 kilometers from the Ukrainian coast, was conquered by the Russian Navy immediately after the start of the war at the end of February.

The flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet “Moskva” (Moscow) was then sunk in mid-April, presumably with Ukrainian anti-ship missiles of the “Neptun” type. The missile cruiser was also responsible for air defense in the Black Sea between the mouth of the Danube and the Crimean Peninsula, which was annexed by Russia in 2014.
