Six fire brigades from the upper Lavanttal had to move out to a sawmill in Bad St. Leonhard around 9:30 p.m. on Friday. A sawdust dryer caught fire. Section alarm was given. The fire was quickly brought under control.
“We had to assess the situation first. Six fire brigades were alerted. A sawdust dryer caught fire in the sawmill and planing mill,” reported fire brigade commander Andreas Baumgartner from the Bad St. Leonhard volunteer fire brigade. The situation was under control around 10 p.m. In addition to the Bad St. Leonhard volunteer fire brigade, five other fire departments in the upper Lavanttal were on duty.
