Duchess Catherine shares moving message

From 20th to 26th June 2022, the British charity for seriously ill children, Together for Short Lives, is organizing Children’s Hospice Week. As patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, Duchess Catherine, 40, is particularly concerned about this issue. With an emotional statement, she thanks all hospices for their “incredible work”. “For any parent, the news that their child has a life-threatening illness and may die early is heartbreaking and incredibly scary. Families can often feel isolated, but supporting a children’s hospice means they don’t have to face this future alone,” Prince William’s wife, 40, begins her message, which was published on the Together for Short Lives official website.

The 54 children’s hospices in Great Britain are “a vital support for families who take care of a seriously ill child” every day. “Over the last ten years I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand the incredible work they do,” Kate continued. Children’s Hospice Week aims to remind everyone “that children’s hospices not only provide expert care, but joy, fun and play to brighten each day and help families make the most of their life together, no matter how short it is may be.” A moving statement from the mother of three.

Prince William is committed to the homeless – like his mother Diana once was

On the morning of June 9, 2022, footage suddenly circulated on social media showing Prince William, 39, in red work gear selling magazines in London’s Westminster government district. They were issues of the English homeless newspaper “The Big Issue”. Now the heir to the throne himself adorns the cover of the magazine – and for the first time expresses his royal undercover mission.

“I was eleven when I was with my mother [Prinzessin Diana, †36] visited the @PassageCharity homeless shelter for the first time. Since then, homelessness has been an issue I want to advocate for,” Prince William said on Twitter and in The Big Issue, adding: “I wanted to experience the other side and see what it’s like to be a big issue seller to be. My time was really eye-opening. I was fortunate enough to join Dave on a warm sunny day in June. People recognized a familiar face and were happy to give me the time. But that’s not the case for the vast majority of big-issue sellers…”.

William wants to take his upcoming 40th birthday as an opportunity to work even harder for those “who are struggling” and to give them more “attention […] than in the past.” Finally, he hopes “in the years to come, George, Charlotte and Louis will be able to take with me to the amazing organizations that are doing inspiring work to support those most in need – just as my mother did to me. “
