Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry caused a sensation with their Netflix documentary. However, a royal expert now reveals that Meghan should not have been enthusiastic about the final version of the six-part series.
In the Netflix documentary, Prince Harry, 38, and Duchess Meghan, 41, talk about their love story, their family life in Montecito and even share some never-before-seen footage of their children Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1. They also condemn the British press and make some shocking statements about the royal family. Even before publication, the six-part documentary was already surrounded by hustle and bustle: After the death of Queen Elizabeth, †96, the Sussexes wanted to make changes – without success. Now a royal expert reveals that the former actress should not be satisfied with the final version of “Harry & Meghan”.
Duchess Meghan is “not enthusiastic” about the final version of the documentary
During the production of the documentary, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are said to have had differences with the staff: They are said to have dropped the original producer of the project, Garrett Bradley, because of different views. Instead, they would have consulted Liz Garbus, as “Daily Mail” reported at the time. After the Queen’s death, the Sussexes are said to have tried to make changes to their Netflix documentary. But the streaming service had the last word and decided not to defuse the material.
Meghan then distanced herself from the documentary series in October. Speaking to Variety, Meghan mentioned that her story wasn’t told exactly the way she and Prince Harry would have liked, but added, “It’s nice to have someone to entrust our story to – an experienced director whose work I have long admired.” The American journalist Kinsey Schofield now reveals that this was no coincidence, because the Duchess of Sussex is not satisfied with the end product. “While I agree that they felt it was important to tell their side of the story, I’ve heard that Meghan wasn’t thrilled with the final draft,” the author told Fox News. Schofield also notes that the documentary lacked depth – which may also be the case with Harry’s forthcoming memoir.
Prince Harry’s memoir is ‘filler only’
“Expect that, like the documentary, ‘Spare’ will be lacking in detail and full of filler,” the expert explains, adding, “Most people notice that while Harry and Meghan love to talk, they both like it Substance and details seem to be missing.” All of Sussex’s media projects, like Harry’s book, the Archetypes podcast and the Netflix documentary, are “a way for Harry and Meghan to try and control history.” However, they would never get to the bottom of a secret.
