Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are said to be trying to gain political influence in the United States. According to an expert, however, this could not work because the Sussexes would “just talk and do nothing”.
Duchess Meghan, 41, and Prince Harry, 38, turned their backs on the British royal family in 2020 and built a new life in Montecito, California. The couple is said to have political ambitions. Meghan was already seated in an open letter to Congress for “paid leave for all”. According to expert Camilla Tominey, the Sussexes have not done anything “spectacular” since the so-called “Megxit”.

It was recently revealed that they asked Sussexes Joe, 80, and Jill Biden, 72, to fly back to the United States on Air Force One after the Queen’s funeral last September. The US President and First Lady are said to have declined so as not to anger the palace, the Daily Mail reported. Camilla Tominey now tells the Telegraph that the fact that the couple proposed in the first place reflects their “attitude towards power”.
“The couple seem to have forgotten that to earn a reputation as a state leader or philanthropist, you have to have done something. Instead, the Duke and Duchess have only talked and done nothing since the Megxit,” emphasizes the expert. By this she should mean the Oprah interview, the Netflix documentary and Harry’s memoir “Spare”.
Sussexes have forgotten the golden rule
previously remarked Crisis communication specialist Andy Barr told “Mirror” that Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry had apparently forgotten that they were no longer part of the British royal family since their retirement as senior royals. “Harry and Meghan forgot the golden rule of giving up a globally respected royal title: you become normal people. Okay, so they’re not quite on the same level as you and me, but they don’t fall into the royal category anymore,” Barr said. Therefore, the Bidens would have had no choice but to decline the ride.
