It’s hard to believe that Duchess Meghan is chasing a friendship, but she really wants to be friends with this pop star.
Duchess Meghan: She wants to be friends with Taylor Swift
The former “Suits” actress is said to be “desperately” trying to get closer to Taylor. The first attempt was to invite her to her previous podcast “Archetypes” with a handwritten letter. Swift turned Meghan down, but the royal dropout is said not to be brushed off and is reportedly continuing to dig.
American journalist and royal expert Kinsey Schofield, 38, appeared on GBN America and said: “Meghan attended the Taylor Swift concert in Los Angeles and made sure the tabloids knew she was there was.” A clever move to get into Taylor Swift’s orbit. “It was important for Meghan to let the gossip sites here know that she was there and that she wanted people to know.”
It’s no wonder that Duchess Meghan is a big Taylor fan – after all, the musician broke records with her “Eras” world tour and is currently the most celebrated superstar in the world. And with her relationship with American football star Travis Kelce, 34, the singer is making even more headlines. Taylor Swift seems to be doing a lot of things right at the moment – and that doesn’t go unnoticed by Meghan either. “I think she’d like to be like Taylor Swift in terms of marketing,” Kinsey Schofield speculated. After all, the “Cruel Summer” interpreter wasn’t always as popular as she is today, quite the opposite. “Taylor went from villain to hero and I’m sure Meghan looks at that transformation and thinks ‘How can I do that?'”
The Duchess and Duke of Sussex are not exactly popular with fans after their exit as senior royals and their move to California. Revelations about the British royal family in their Netflix documentary, shocking memoirs, and an explosive interview with talk legend Oprah Winfrey, 70, scratched Harry and Meghan’s image. Taylor Swift could certainly give you valuable tips and it’s smart that Duchess Meghan wants to get closer to the singer. Maybe some of the popularity will rub off on them?!
